Jen’s Obsession: Mociun’s AGTA Spectrum Champagne Diamond Ring in Gold

I never knew what the diamond ring of my dreams looked like until I met it yesterday at the American Gem Trade Association’s Editor Day for its Spectrum Awards entries. Enter a 14k yellow gold, multi-stone style from Caitlin Mociun of Mociun in Brooklyn, N.Y., whom JCK profiled earlier this year.

Mociun’s aesthetic is dainty, simple, geometric, and playful, with harmonious combinations of gems set into quite affordable styles made largely in 14k gold. The ring I covet was entered into the bridal category of the awards, and though it didn’t officially take home an award, it was still a clear winner in the minds of many besides me! When I posted this picture of it on social media yesterday, Andrea Hansen (one of the WJA Diva design division judges this year) commented that it was a favorite during the process.

I love the Snowflake Diamond Cluster ring, as the designer has named it, because it combines all of my favorite diamonds—champagne color, old-mine cut, and colorless stones—into one stunning piece. The piece just screams pretty, and its soft yellowish-brown shades (not too white or too dark) make it an easy wear for most outfits. Best of all, it’s still available for sale at a retail price of $23,340.
