When rock star Kimberly Perry of the Band Perry visited New York City's Fragments a few weeks ago looking for accessories to wear to some high-profile events, showroom and store staffers had no idea that one of her choices would show up on her neck at the 54th Annual Grammy Awards. On Sunday Feb. 12 in Los Angeles, Perry sang with bandmate Reid Perry and music legend Glen Campbell, and wore a 14k rose gold Dove necklace from Kismet, among other pieces. The necklace drew rave reviews from fans who tweeted @thebandperry inquiries about the piece—to which she replied (to 146,261 followers) that they could find it at Fragments in New York City.

When Fragments realized she was wearing their piece, they immediately started their own social networking on Facebook and Twitter (@FragmentsJewel). For the Turkish jewelry designer Kismet—whom Fragments started representing only three weeks ago—and the retailer, Perry’s purchase marks a boon in sales: By the end of day on Monday, Fragments’ store on Prince Street in SoHo had already taken consumer orders for 20 pieces.
