October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, so as you may have noticed, the color pink is having a major moment in the spotlight. But don’t just attribute that to the crusade for cancer research. Pink is ruling the color spectrum in fashion, too. The ultra-feminine shade made its rounds on the recent fashion runways, and it’s stealing the spotlight in the bridal world, too—Vera Wang’s Fall 2014 bridal collection made its debut completely in pink. The gowns ranged from soft, delicate blush to a vibrant shock of fuschia, adorned with lacy elements, oversized bows and flower motifs, ruffles, and every other feminine element that comes to mind. (The girly-girl looks aren’t for everyone, that’s true.) So, as it translates to the jewelry world, how do you please your purchasers on the hunt for pink while convincing the reluctant others to come to the rosy side? Simple: Morganite.

The gemstone, a variety of beryl that ranges from peachy rose to a light purplish-pink, is a beautiful compromise between the utmost fans of bubble gum pink and those who would rather not sport such a feminine shade.

Morganite has become something of a designer’s muse as of late, with favorites like Yael Designs, Loretta Castoro, and Makur framing it in diamond, and setting it in silky complementing rose gold. The final product really is a vision, and I dare any foe of pink to not at least smile at the sight.

Best of all, the cheery stone said to inspire hope, calm, and joie de vivre (who doesn’t want that?) complements each and every skin tone beautifully, and looks equally as gorgeous paired with any ensemble: black, white, blue—heck, even orange or brown. So no matter the reason, be it breast cancer awareness, influences from the fashion world, or the desire to show your clientele more color, if you’re going pink this month, or any time at all, add any of these morganite beauties to the mix.
