Buttons & Clusters: Short Chic Earrings

While long dangling earrings have a strong presence in fashion this season, another style of earrings is also receiving plenty of attention. Button and cluster earrings, usually about as long as they are tall, either genuinely vintage or inspired by mid-century designs, are finding plenty of fans among the fashion-savvy. Easier to wear than long earrings because they keep the focus on the face rather than down at the neck, these styles are flattering on just about everyone.

In the May 2012 issue of Marie Claire, actress Felicity Jones is pictured wearing button-style earrings from Verdura with a lace jacket from Dolce & Gabbana.

Diamond cluster earrings from Chopard are identified as being among actress Penelope Cruz’s favorite things in the May 2012 issue of Harper’s Bazaar.
