iDesign: Breguet + Harry Winston

Yes, I was up too late last night, but on the plus side, I caught this show, iDesign, hosted by the young but very dapper Eric Villency (grandson of Maurice Villency) on the Fine Living network. I applaud iDesign’s commitment to “form and function,” because it’s right in line with JCK’s mantra of “substance + style.”

Last night’s episode, “The Immortals,” featured an inside look at watch manufacturer Breguet, founded in 1775. Nicolas G. Hayek, Breguet president and CEO, spoke about re-creating the original Marie-Antoinette pocket watch, a gift requested for the queen in 1783, completed in 1827 (34 years after her death), and stolen from a Jerusalem museum in 1983. It hasn’t been seen since. The watch escaped the queen’s eyes, and most of the public’s, but now, Breguet brings it back to us. Fun!

Unfortunately, it doesn’t look like you can catch this ep anytime soon, but what you can do is check out Fine Living’s Web site, where they currently have an insider’s-look video from the hallowed halls of Harry Winston.

So check your local listings and set your DVR, because despite the 2 a.m. time slot, iDesign will make you say iDo!
