Penélope Cruz, I Love You, You're Perfect ...

I think that as separate items I love the dress, the jewelry, and the Roger Vivier clutch. Together, not so much.

Let’s start with the dress …

It is Chanel Couture by Karl Lagerfeld and I think it is stunning. The front drape is iffy and kind of looks like bunting to me, but I am willing to look beyond that because the navy is so rich and I love the feathers. Also, the shading effect achieved by the use of different fabrics is genius!

On to the jewelry and clutch …

Cruz is wearing ruby and diamond drop earrings, a fancy shaped diamond bracelet, and a marquise-cut diamond ring, all by Chopard. The ring and the bracelet I think go well with the dress actually. 

And I like the clutch …

So I guess my only real issue is the earrings. They seem a bit out of place and loud to me. 

I’m not sure, I think I would have liked to have seen something closer to the ear on Cruz. They just don’t look like earrings that belong on the red carpet to me. For lack of a better phrase, I will steal one from Michael Kors, "they just don’t look expensive."
