Trend Spotting: Anchors

December 20, 2006

To match up with fashion’s current nautical bent (check out Dsquared2’s Spring/Summer 2007 collection), anchors are just a neck, wrist, or lobe away. Like last season’s skull craze, the anchor doesn’t discriminate, hooking in both men and women, and will likely be sailing smoothly into spring. Here, some options that are sure to stay afloat.

 Kelly Rowland

  • Philip Crangi’s Anchor Charms necklace triples the anchors and adds a little horseshoe luck, in steel and gold, at Barneys
  • Ron Hami’s yellow gold and diamond anchor necklace goes solo or pairs well with others, from the Charming collection
  • Giles & Brother’s silver anchor necklace hangs on an adjustable chain, at Browns
  • Alexis Bittar’s Anchor Link necklace is nicely weighted with hoops and a hammered oval and citrine stone, at Saks
  • Thea Grant’s pin from the Williamsburg collection (#45) is suspended from a red and white ribbon
  • Ugo Cacciatori offers sterling silver anchor earrings, plus pendants paired with garnet, citrine, or onyx, while his wallet chain provides masculine heft
  • White Trash Charms’ anchor pendant and earrings in sterling silver, gold vermeil, or 14k also come in mini, medium, and large sizes … Gwen Stefani picked the large gold vermeil
  • Finn’s 18k gold anchor necklace with diamonds from the Tresoro collection drops beautifully, without diamonds available at Barneys
