Ciara Wears Euphoria to the World Music Awards

January 31, 2008

Ciara recently performed at the 2007 World Music Awards in Monaco wearing one-of-a-kind11.13 ct. t.w. Diamond Swirl earrings and a 12.45 ct. t.w. Domed-Diamond Cuff, both by Euphoria.

Word on the street is that at dinner, with the royal family of Monaco, Prince Albert asked to see Ciara’s earrings and said that were "beautifully made, and flexible too".

So what’s the verdict?

Well, I didn’t love the look. The dress, jewelry, hair and makeup combo just aren’t doing it for me

The jewelry is beauitful, but is the look age/personality appropriate?

I mean, Ciara is what? 22? Plus, she’s a completely different artist from what this look is saying. So at the risk of sounding like Simon Cowell, I think she just looks very old fashioned.

Here, let’s take a look at the album cover of The Evolution, her December 2006 release.

There’s just no correlation between the two.

Okay, I get it, I get it, the whole throwback to old-Hollywood look is all the rage and everyone tries to do it with their own twist, but does it work here? I just don’t think so.

There’s just a lot going on in the dress with the patent leather abdomen plate, the bizarre breast-enhancing detail work, and the epaulette-reminiscent cap sleeve.

The stylist obviously thought that they were doing the right thing by pairing the Euphoria jewelry along with the detail work in the dress, but they should’ve rethought the dress entirely. Sleeveless … even rolling those suckers into thick straps would’ve helped.

Also, Ciara’s got a stunning face and phenomenal earrings on, pull her hair back on the right side so that we can see more of both.

Wonderful jewelry, misguided look.

That’s all I’ve got.

Don’t agree?

Think I’m a fashion genius?

i think youre totally wrong. you cant dress in some sleeveless
revealing number when youre presenting and performing at the World
Music Awards. This wouldnt be right for the BET or MTV or Grammys-
but when youre dealing w/ the international community, where one
must be taken seriously, the stylist has to make sure the client is
dressed accordingly. the look is mature. and the hair softens her
up- though she already has very feminine features. i do agree it
should have been pulled back from her face a bit. other than that-
last thing she or her label would want is for her to look like some
cliche hip hop-bubble gum pop music looking american hood rat who
made it big. her look is always sleep bu that sleek could easily
look SLEEZY. can you say she looked sleezy? No. She looks
respectable.
