Fashion + Jewelry: Luca Luca + Doyle New York

Last night art director Todd Gast and I attended the perfect marriage of fashion and jewelry in a preview, cohosted by the Morgan Stanley Children’s Hospital of NewYork–Presbyterian, of the Important Estate Jewelry auction (Oct. 11 at 10 a.m.), where models wearing items from Luca Luca’s Resort ’08 collection and those very important jewels strutted their stuff on the floors of auctioneer and appraiser Doyle New York.

Meanwhile, in the back room, competitive viewing was taking place as the Upper East Side’s upper crust rubbed elbows—or shoved elbows, in some cases—to get a better gander at baubles galore from the likes of Cartier, David Webb, Tiffany, and Van Cleef & Arpels

Star power and expert eyes combined in the father–son team of Doyle’s consulting appraisers, and Antiques Roadshow regulars, Berj and Kevin Zavian, on hand to offer assistance behind the cases.
