April showers have brought May flowers in profusion this year. The season’s crop of jewelry designs includes more than your usual garden-variety flat floral designs, rather, teasing the designs into a crop of full-fledged three-dimensional blooms.

Roses are a favorite for this highly dimensional treatment. They are captured in resin, porcelain and metal. Other flowers also make an appearance. Among the featured blooms seen in American fashion-focused magazines are the following:

Three-dimensional white rose rings of unspecified material from Nina Ricci are pictured in the May 2010 issue of Harper’s Bazaar, which earrings can be employed to “sweeten your look” says the caption.

Lulu Guinness rings featuring resin roses are pictured in the May 2010 issue of More magazine.

Designer Anya Hindmarch is shown wearing a dress featuring a three-dimensional metallic gold rose in the May 2010 issue of More.

Hand-painted porcelain rosebud earrings by Dior featured in the June 2010 issue of InStyle provide a little romance.

Roberto Cavalli’s cocktail ring consisting of a crystal-encrusted serpent wrapped around a resin rose, is pictured in the June 2010 issue of Lucky magazine. The magazine says that the glamour of this ring “lies in its tinge of menace.”

An entire page of golden roses and other flowers from the May 2010 issue of InStyle magazine, which suggests that metal flowers “add a dash of glamour to spring’s soft pastels and safari styles.”

Whether it’s sweetness, romance or glamour you are seeking, look to the garden for inspiration this spring.
