About our new President:
He wears a watch, even with formal wear, making watch-wearing cool.
He wears a wedding ring. Ditto as to the coolness factor.
About our new First Lady:
She loves color and texture.
She likes a bit of dazzle near her face.
She will borrow jewelry in order to achieve a stylish look.
She has the height and long neck that enable her to wear long shoulder-duster earrings.
She may substitute a huge cocktail ring on her middle finger for her wedding ring on the ring finger for formal occasions.
Everything she wears and how she wears it is going to be copied.

Most women these days are shopping for themselves and they are very
confident about what they wear as a total look/ package... it is
only fitting that the fashion and design boutiques feature designer
jewelry for a one-stop shop for customers.

According to news reports, the jewelry she wore is by Loree Rodkin,
and she was introduced to the brand by Ikram, a luxury boutique in
Chicago where she frequently shops. This is important to note--more
and more high fashion stores are starting to incorporate small
selections of fine jewelry to their product mix, making a one-stop
shop for customers. At the designer level, a number of companies I
spoke to in the past few years have all cited non-jewelry upscale
fashion and design boutiques as their biggest growth area.
