Trend Watch: Wrist Corsage Bracelets – Romance in Bloom

Although my own personal style tends toward the elegant style personality with a strong dash of creative, the girly-girl in me (the romantic style personality) is swooning over the new crop of three-dimensional floral design bracelets and cuffs that perch on graceful forearms like so many wrist corsages. Profusions of posies at the wrist are both girlish and timeless, appropriate for women of all ages.

The May 2008 issue of InStyle magazine features a page devoted to these “haute-house flowers” of colored gemstones set in platinum or gold. It’s as if the large, two-dimensional cut-out floral designs that first hit the radar screens of the fashion savvy back when Sarah Jessica Parker wore her Vera Wang bracelet and ring at the 2003 Emmy Awards have now come into full bloom. The dimensionality of these new cuffs and bracelets makes them ready conversation pieces. As is true of all beautiful flowers, these lovelies can easily become the centerpiece of one’s signature look. And like wrist corsages, these creations are perfect for spring and summer dances but will be equally lovely at the holiday galas next winter.
