Frame It Now

November 18, 2007

With the season now upon us this week I wanted to remind the retailers out there to keep their digital cameras handy. With all those important sales this month, taking that extra couple of minutes to photograph your customers along with their selections is a great opportunity. These snapshots will come in real handy for advertising and in store promotions in the months that follow your busy season
.

.

One of those ideas for next season is to use “digital picture frames”  in your showcase displays. These small LCD screens, available on-line and at all sorts of retailers, are the perfect size for jewelry showcases and widow displays. They can hold dozens of images in rotation and can provide shoppers a glimpse of your offerings beyond those currently on hand.

In the 60’s watch manufacturers would provide window displays that whirled and flashed as shoppers went by my store and the marketing theory behind these POP displays still holds true today. If there is motion and light in your showcases shoppers will spend more time looking in your store

In January and February when your inventory has been reduced…..maybe there will be a little room in those showcases for a new idea
