PGI's South African Experience Part I
In October 2007, Platinum Guild International USA (PGI-USA) hosted a select group of leading jewelry retailers and manufacturers on a ten day “Platinum Experience” trip to South Africa to learn, share and experience the source of all things Platinum.
The jewelry retailers and manufacturers in attendance (in no particluar order) were: Jeff & Kathy Corey of Days Jewelers, Myriam Gumuchian of Gumuchian, Katherine Rosenberg-Pineau & David Pineau of Hearts on Fire, Cliff & Darlene Miller of MJ Christensen Diamond Centers, Buzz Jopling of Precision Set, Jerry & Dena Robbins of Robbins Diamonds, Sagar & Shamina Mehta of Seema Gems, Inc., Aron & Marjorie Suna of Suna Bros., Howard & Susan Tapper of Tapper’s Jewelry, Tim and Sheila Murray of Johnson Matthey, and Esther Fortunoff of Fortunoff. The trip enabled everyone in the group to not only learn and educate themselves on Platinum, but also gave them the chance to develop relationships with one another and create a bond that have survived beyond the trip.
