ABN Amro Diamond and Jewelry Division -- Sold Again?

Fortis has made discrete approaches to third parties who might be interested in buying ABN Amro’s diamond activities, reports Belgian paper De Tijd.

Fortis took over the International Diamond and Jewellery Group when it bought parts of the Dutch banking group last year.

There have been false alarms about this before, such as this report. I am writing the bank and hope for a comment soon …

UPDATE: I’ve heard nothing from the bank, but Fortis is apparently a little shaky …
