How to Create New Business on July 4th

June 29, 2007

Many of my friends in the business have told me that the weekend before July 4th and/or that weekend isn’t phenomenal for their store and they don’t even try and advertise anything because the hundreds of car ads have beaten them to it.

Some ideas to create new business the weekend of July 4th:

  1. Call up a local car dealership and ask the manager to park two beautiful Mercedes, BMW, Lexus, or Infiniti’s outside your store with his dealership’s information. You might get some passerby’s wanting to look at the beautiful cars that might even stop inside and the dealership benefits from customers knowing who they are and where they’re at.
  2. Send out invitations and make their RSVP their raffle ticket. Give away a gift certificate so they have to stop by again.
  3. Throw a July 4th BBQ for your best customers to help form a more friendly relationship so that they remember you when they need an exquisite piece.
  4. Have a dress-up contest and get customers to come in with red, white, and blue paraphernalia. The best dressed gets a prize—you’re supporting your country and getting your customers laughing and having a good time. Possibly only do a kids contest and get your customers knowing your store is kid friendly.
  5. Get some guys to valet your customer’s cars for free. Some like to be inside on a hot day in July.

What are your tactics for bringing in more customers on July 4th weekend?
