Diamond Documentary Airing Tonight

A reminder that Diamond Road, a three part series on the diamond industry, airs tonight at 8 to 11 PM on Discovery Times. It repeats at 11. The show will re-air on the Discovery Times Channel on Aug 13 at 8pm and on Discovery HD Theater on July 27.
I was on hand for the part of the filming of this documentary, when I followed Martin Rapaport’s efforts to start Fair Trade diamonds in Sierra Leone. I was also interviewed, very briefly, but I doubt I made the final cut. The filmmakers apparently took over two years putting this together, and certainly shot a ridiculous amount of footage in Sierra Leone. There is talk one of the producers is contemplating moving to Sierra Leone, or working for Rapaport, or perhaps both.
Anyway, it looks interesting, though not particularly flattering. (It includes footage of what it says is a 13-year-old Indian diamond polisher) More after I view it …
