Diamond Shavings: Your (Early for the Three Day Weekend) Web Roundup
July 3, 2008

For those who missed this, thanks to one of our alert commenters, we can now all follow along with the Whitehall bankruptcy proceedings. Simply go here, and then click “docket” (up top), and the relevant documents are there. The site is a little weird and annoying, but with a little navigating (sometimes it takes you to the client list, where you have to choose "Whitehall") it gets the job done. And it's free.

And now the news …

LVMH strikes blow against ebay.

- Cartier on myspace.

JCK study: Consumer don’t know jewelry brands.

- “Not surprising.”

- Industry “needs more openness.”

- The “grape soda test.”

Rob, I think you should expose this subject to the entire jewelry/watch industry .....memo goods are the road to destruction for the industry. You can single handedly make suppliers aware of the pitfalls that dishonest people feed off. The bankruptcy judge who appointed the trustee in this case should not let the trustee handle the case like the wild west for the trustee's own benefit. Memo goods belong to suppliers and they should be ordered to be returned and not sold off as assets of Whitehall, that would be worse than the Whitehall crime itself.
