No jeweler simply retires and rides into the sunset.
Our profession lasts a lifetime and a half.
Once we have established ourselves as jewelers our former customers and relatives always assume that we have not really retired. As long as we are capable of being in the upright position we can accomodate an old friend.
I tell friends to go to the man that bought my retail store 5 years ago, and they tell me, " but I know you for over 30 years and will not trust anyone else with grandpa's pocket watch for a watch crystal".
Some of us have children who have entered the jewelry business. They have adopted our equipment.
Others like to have a piece of equipment on their coffee table to remind themselves of grandpa/grandma's being a jewelry merchant and still others have found themselves in the position of wanting to sell the equipment but not knowing for how much, so it sits.
Place an ad and make an offer of what you will pay, rather than waiting.

I think that this is a great idea. I have a great safe for sale. It is a John Tann, very large 81" tall, will get over 3 million $ of insurance coverage from the insurance companies. I closed one store, have one left and an extra safe. Never been drilled has combo/key for entry. Call Mark at 954-424-2120
