A Nifty Promotion Idea
May 20, 2008

Here's an idea, short and sweet, for a great promotion: Keystone Volvo, with locations in Berwyn, Doylestown, and Montgomeryville, PA, hosted a "Free Shredder Event" in April at all three locations. At each dealership, they contracted with a local document shredding company to come with a truck from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., and they sent out postcards to all their customers inviting them to bring all their confidential documents for free shredding right before their eyes.  Keystone's signature is "no pressure, no hype," and it's really true.  Lots of people, women especially, hate car shopping because it's such an icky experience, but Keystone makes it a pleasure. And the cool shredder promotion is certainly one that jewelers could adopt.  Ok, maybe only jewelers with their own parking lot, but, hey--what a great way to get people into the store with no obligation, and they'll deifnitely remember you!  And, apart from the rental of the shredder service and a postcard mailing, you don't have to do much else for the promotion beyond what you'd normally do--clean cases, have great stock, great staff, and maybe a few munchies.  Happy shredding!
