Follow Up: Duvall O'Steen
December 4, 2007
Anyone who has had the pleasure of meeting
Duvall O'Steen knows that the
World Gold Council is lucky to have her. What those same people (and those who may not have seen her in the Fall 2006 issue of
JCK Luxury [spred shown below]) may not be aware of, however, is that O'Steen is also quite the accomplished actress.
Duvall O'Steen is a proud graduate of the
William Esper Studio. She is thrilled to be a member of the
Michael Chekhov Theatre Company and working with
Michael Horn. Most recently in Manhattan, Duvall played the role of
Zelda Fitzgerald in a biographical piece about
F. Scott Fitzgerald for
St. Francis College, as well as the role of Roberta in Voice Theatre's
Danny and the Deep Blue Sea at
59 East 59th Street. Other favorite roles include Romeo in an all-female
Romeo & Juliet, Isabella in
The Years, Susanne in
The Dream (co-starring with Bibi Andersonn), Doris in
Same Time Next Year, Bobbie Michelle in
Last of the Red Hot Lovers and Molly in
Line, the longest running Off-Off Broadway show in history. Duvall has appeared in a number of Quinnart Productions as Leah in both the New York and Paris premieres of
Bad Evidence, as Gisela in the world premier of
The Birthmark, as well as Sarah Bernhardt in
Wilde Night for the
Appalachian Summer Festival. On-screen credits include the title role in
Gina's Music; a frantic massage escapee in
Mister, Back Massage? and a haunted trauma survivor in
Women & Other Strange Beings. Accolades include the coveted "Performer of the Day" award on opening day of the NY Renaissance Faire, rave reviews in Show Business Weekly and Off-Off Broadway Review, as well as "finalist" recognition in the
USA Film Festival's 1998 short film
Gina's Music. (

So for those wondering how they can learn more about O'Steen for themselves, fear not, adoring public, if you didn't happen to see the above profile you can catch O'Steen live, on the stage, as Lesley, in the
Michael Horn & the
Michael Chekhov Theatre Company's production of
Talking Heads, directed by Max McGuire.
Talking Heads, written by renowned playwright, essayist and storyteller,
Alan Bennett, is a collection of award-winning monologues which are extraordinary portraits of ordinary people. First produced for BBC television in 1987, these solo dialogues introduce us to a host of unseen characters from a single point of view with razor sharp wit and deeply felt humanity. Two shows of three monologues each will alternate Sunday and Monday evenings. (
