He's a JCK Reader Too!
January 16, 2008

Roxanne Reisman, a hobbyist jeweler from the Washington, D.C. area, sent us this photo of our newest subscriber. Vegas, a boxer/American bulldog mix, just loves JCK, and Roxanne swears he gets up on the couch with it by himself. We just had to interview him!

JCK
: So, tell us about yourself.

Vegas: I live with my mom Roxanne and dad Jesse and my younger brother, Reno.

JCK: Does Reno read JCK too?

Vegas: I don’t like to share. He needs to get his own subscription.

JCK: Do you read every issue?

Vegas: You bet!

JCK: Did you know that JCK also has the biggest jewelry show in the United States, and that it’s in Las VEGAS?

Vegas: Well, of course it is!

JCK: Do you make jewelry too?

Vegas: I try, but not having opposing thumbs makes it very hard. And I was really upset when I found out that the Dog Star was a constellation, not a gemstone. I had already designed a whole collection around it in my mind’s eye.

JCK: Maybe your mom will make something inspired by your ideas.

Vegas: That’s a thought.

JCK: Tell us about your mom’s jewelry.

Vegas: Most of her customers are co-workers of the family. Like, they’ll see something my aunt is wearing and then order one from my mom.

JCK: Did your mom ever make you a jeweled collar?

Vegas: Not yet, but my third birthday is coming up…

JCK: What kind of gemstones would you like in it?

Vegas: Rough!
