It Lives!

The "Blood Diamond" movie has seen its shadow, so now we'll have six more weeks of winter. Leonardo DiCaprio and Djimon Hounsou were both nominated for Oscars for their roles in "Blood Diamond" -- surprising those who expected to see DiCaprio nominated for "The Departed." (By the way, industry issues aside, they were both great in the film.) This could give the movie something of a second wind; it did not do great over Christmas, and Hounsou, at a recent U.N. panel, admitted it had done "poorly."
In related news, BD director Ed Zwick will address the Rapaport Diamond Conference in February.
