The Gemological Institute of New Jersey?

That’s the word from a New York Times article yesterday on the machinations regarding the new tower in the Diamond District. (The Post had one too.) The exact quote is: "The Gemological Institute has long been unhappy at its location and is said to be considering moving some operations to New Jersey."
Hmmm ... I would hope the Times is not relying on idle industry gossip. Still, the GIA has yet to get back to me on whether it's true or not. But it's hard to see the advantage, at least from a customer service point of view ...
