PGI's South African Experience Part II
January 31, 2008
Start with PGI's South African Experience Part I
Included in the Platinum adventure was an educational visit to the Anglo Platinum mine which showed visitors first hand the intensive labor that goes into Platinum’s production and mining that gives Platinum it’s rarity of the world’s most precious metal. The guests also enjoyed a cultural experience at a South African winery where all were able to indulge in another important South African export and even had a rare chance to watch the South African Rugby Team take home the world championship! To truly embrace the South African culture PGI took their guests to a luxurious game reserve where they experienced a South African Safari, including a “Boma Dinner” – a South African barbeque complete with a roaring fire and African singers.

"The Platinum Guild International USA trip to South Africa was both inspiring and life altering for us. Stepping into a world with a beautiful blend of cultures, incredible scenic views and magnificent natural resources, we were in awe almost every minute of this adventure. We returned with a greater appreciation of our industry and the intricacies of Platinum mining and most of all with fond memories of special friendships we created in South Africa and with our colleagues who accompanied us," says Kathy and Jeff Corey of Day’s Jewelers.

"PGI'S trip took us to so many amazing places and we all fell in love with this country. The group which was very varied turned out to be so much fun, I did not know most of the guests and came back from this trip with great new friends," says Myriam Gumuchian of Gumuchian.

"A memorable trip filled with varied and novel experiences—everything from eating ostrich and springbok to crawling on your knees through a low tunnel in a Platinum mine and for the athletes in the group, rugby; for the wine enthusiasts a trip to a winery; Platinum- Incomparable," says Aron Suna of Suna Bros.
