Tahitian Pearl Contest Call for Entries

Better hurry! Entries are now being accepted for the Tahitian Pearl Trophy 5th Edition 2007–2008. Though the contest was, essentially, just announced at a press conference during the Baselworld, The Watch and Jewellery show, the deadline for registration in the U.S. is May 30. Yikes! Doesn’t leave folks a lot of time to prepare, does it?
Anyway … Perles De Tahiti GIE, the official promotion body for Cultured Pearls in French Polynesia, sponsors the international competition. This year’s theme is Le Chant Des Étoiles, or The Song of the Stars. Winners get a diploma, and their pieces typically garner international press and accolades. Some 11 categories for jewelry submission exist.
