Anne Hathaway in Harry Winston ... Lovely.
April 28, 2008

Harry Winston and Marchesa, of course.

Anne Hathaway wearing Harry Winston – 10 Carat, Cushion Cut Diamond Drop Earrings, valued at more than $1 million.

You can spot a Marchesa dress a mile away, those cascading rosettes are a dead giveaway.

"British born Georgina and Keren met at Chelsea College of Art and Design in London. Georgina, a 2001 graduate of the Wimbledon School of Art, began her career as a costume designer. Keren graduated from Brighton Art College in 2000 and subsequently focused on print and embroidery design. Georgina’s draping and design expertise paired with Keren’s textile creations resulted in a business partnership and the establishment of Marchesa in 2004." (Source)

Fun Fact: The designers present their work in gallery showings where every model stands on a podium. How very Grecian. Another tidbit about the dress is that is was a Fall 2008 Fashion Week premiere chosen by stylist Rachel Zoe especially for Hathaway.

I've gotta say, I am not mad at this look. I'm a big fan of Marchesa and the choice of simple diamond drops (yes, I just called 10 cts. simple) was a good choice. When you have such a strong statement in the dress you really should play most everything down and let it and the face do it all. Luckily, with Hathaway, Rachel Zoe had a great foundation on which to build.

Rachel I hope you're reading. Call me!

I will work for gift bags. I don't know maybe I could carry your bag or something.

Bacilio, you are so right about Marchesa. It's one of the most consistently gorgeous, feminine, well-balanced (in terms of draping and tailoring) lines right now. If you haven't already, look at the entire fall 08/09 collection. Just stunning.
