Fashion Faux Pas: Lady in Red
December 7, 2006

Imagine going to a party & being in the same outfit as the hostess. Terrible, right?

Now imagine that the hostess is the First Lady.

That's right, following Sunday's Kennedy Center Honors three women, besides Laura Bush, showed up to the White House reception in the exact same $8500 Oscar de la Renta red dress. (Shown below.)

Oscar never had it so good or awkward, whichever you prefer.

A White House correspondent confirmed that the First Lady did find time to slip out, change & return to the party, but the other three had no such luck.

Unfortunately Pres. G.W. Bush won't be able to get away from what will come to be known as his administration's "Dress Incident"; it had already been immortalized in this year's official presidential holiday photo earlier that night.

Crazy. I wonder if this will be bad press for Oscar. Feel like he should have known...
