What's Happening In Our World

Hard to believe seven weeks have passed since the Las Vegas shows and the New York show is already upon us. We’ve been a busy style team this summer, so I thought I’d give you an update on some of the happenings here.
First, I am thrilled to welcome Bacilio Mendez as our newest fashion editor. Those of you who are Style 360 faithful recognize his name as a regular blogger here. Bacilio has been with us as JCK’s assistant art director since 2005 and has decided to make the leap into the fashion side of things. Jennifer and I will be introducing him during the JA show next week, so I hope everyone will have a chance to say hello.

Second, we’ve thrown in our hats again for the Ozzie Awards! These awards recognize the best in magazine design. Last year, JCK Luxury won a gold award, and our former Trends magazine won a silver in 2005. Bacilio and Art Director Todd Gast put all the entries together last week and we mailed them off. Keep your fingers crossed for us, and I’ll keep you posted when nominations come out!

Finally, we’ve been planning our fall issues. We’re especially excited about the next issue of JCKstyle magazine and the issue’s highlight, the fabulous fashion spread. Last issue, we went Mod in a sleek Manhattan loft; last fall, we were moody and brooding in an old mansion overlooking the Hudson River; and prior to that, feeling preppy at a horse farm in picturesque Westchester County, NY. While I can’t reveal the details of the upcoming shoot, I will say that we’re taking things to a glamorous new level.
