MASON BOX CO. REDESIGNS WEB SITE

The Mason Box Co., North Attleboro, Mass., has redesigned its Web site (www.masonbox.com), enabling customers to view all products in the company’s 40-page catalog and place orders by e-mail or fax. The site also includes special promotional offers.

Visitors to the site can order any of the company’s 1,200 items, including shipping and utility boxes, paper boxes, jewelry/presentation boxes, gift accessories, and shipping supplies. Links within the site highlight the company’s history.

SILVERMAN’S LAUNCHES WEB SITE PROMOTION

Silverman’s Jewelers, the 24th largest U.S. jewelry chain, has launched its first online advertising campaign under the Shopping Web Guide on the Lycos Inc. site. The campaign directs customers to Silverman’s own Web site (www.silvermanjewelers.com), where they can place orders for fashion rings, bridal sets, engagement rings and mountings, gold jewelry, and other items. Silverman’s is also a manufacturer and has its own 20,000-sq.-ft. design center in El Paso, Texas.

Silverman’s is currently negotiating with several other companies whose Internet sites target the bridal market, professional women, and other customers.

The Lycos Network is a set of Web sites that offers a variety of services, including Web navigation, homepage building, and a comprehensive shopping center.

POLYGON CREATES NEW WEB DIRECTORY

Polygon Network Inc., Dillon, Colo., has created TradeLock.com, a new Web site directory that allows people in the jewelry industry to easily find trade-oriented Web sites.

TradeLock.com allows a user to search for Web sites by category (such as platinum jewelry, diamond dealers, or trade shows) or by keywords. The first search results displayed are those using Polygon’s TradeLock password protection system, which allows access to those in the jewelry industry and screens out consumers. More than 1,000 Web sites are listed.

Only Web sites targeted to the jewelry trade are accepted. Anyone in the jewelry industry may request a TradeLock password from the Web site, although a password is not required to use TradeLock.com.

The Web site can be found on the Internet at www.tradelock.com.
