Le Vian Announces Competition Winners

Le Vian unveiled the winning jewelry in its Le Vian For Children design competition during The JCK Show ~ Las Vegas. Winning renderings were on display both at the company's booth and at the Le Vian Red Carpet Revue fashion show, held Sunday, June 4.
The competition categories were:
- Symbol of Jewelers for Children, where entrants create a piece of jewelry using the JFC symbol as inspiration, which can then be used to increase charitable donations to JFC. The winner was Amanda Visco Genovino of Livingston, N.J., a student at the Fashion Institute of Technology. First runner-up was Carrie Hartley of Bronx, N.Y., also a student at F.I.T.
- Red Carpet Earrings, where entrants predict the trends in earrings worn by celebrities on the red carpet. The winner was Mary Tanana of St. Petersburg, Fla., and first runner-up was Sheena Farmer of New York, a student at F.I.T.
- Patriotic Design, where entrants design a piece that will bring out the spirit of America. Tanana also won this category, and the first runner-up was Susan Heard of Leucadia, Calif., a student at the Gemological Institute of America. The winning design was made into earrings and worn by Jessica Lynch, who after she was captured in Iraq became the first rescued prisoner of war since World War II and who was a guest at the Le Vian celebrity fashion show.
- Bridal Rings, where entrants create an engagement ring, wedding band, or matching set. Tanana won; first runner-up was Eun-Young Lee of Busan, South Korea, a student at GIA.
- Trends, where entrants predict the fine-jewelry trend for 2006. Genovino won, and first runner-up was Megan Daisey of New York, a student at F.I.T.
