The company will photograph and return merchandise in as little as two hours, saving the expense, inconvenience and security problems involved in leaving the show. The annual retail design exposition GlobalShop will be held March 22-24 in McCormick Place, Chicago, Ill. The show will feature the latest in store design, creative fixturing, operations and construction materials, merchandising and point-of-purchase advertising.

Speakers will include Arthur Martinez, chief executive of Sears Roebuck; Gordon Thompson III, vice president of research, design and development for athletic shoe and apparel giant Nike; and Tom Peters, author of The Pursuit of Wow and In Search of Excellence.

The second International Jewelers Exposition will be held Sept. 21-23 at Trump’s Taj Mahal Casino Hotel in Atlantic City, N.J. Organizers plan 300 booths.

The new location was chosen in response to exhibitors’ requests for a more compact, cost-effective exhibit facility with a quality atmosphere, says Berj Abajian, IJE consultant. The 60,000-sq.-ft. exhibit area will provide access to hotel accommodations, restaurants and entertainment under one roof.
