What better venue to capture the attention of sophisticated consumers than a fine-art fair? While venues like the Palm Beach Fine Art & Antique Fair have long attracted a small group of both jewelry designers and jewelers who exhibit, the idea is gaining momentum. Among the Palm Beach event's newest "dealers" is none other than fine-jewelry megastar Harry Winston.

Fashionable Fads with Conscience.

Seen that hunk of yellow rubber everyone's wearing around their wrists these days? The $1 bracelet, produced by Nike, is known as the "Live Strong" bracelet and benefits the Lance Armstrong Foundation for cancer research and awareness. The yellow bracelets were seen during the fall on everyone from pop culture celebs to Sen. John Kerry. Up next? Watch for another inexpensive plastic bracelet, this time backed by an industry insider and supported by a television celebrity, to raise funds and awareness for eating disorders.

Thrifty Brides = Jewelry Sales?

J. Crew's recent launch of $200-to-$500 bridal gowns may be good news for jewelers who remind brides that a gown is for one day, but jewels last a lifetime.
