GIA Education Catalog Maps Out Career Paths

Staff -- JCK-Jewelers Circular Keystone, 5/1/2003

The 2003 Gemological Institute of America (GIA) Education Catalog outlines specific career paths available to those with a Graduate Gemologist (G.G.), Accredited Jewelry Professional (A.J.P.), Graduate Jeweler (G.J.), or Applied Jewelry Arts (A.J.A.) diploma. A new 10-page section introduces the new GIA School of Business—the first and only business school created exclusively for the jewelry industry. This section includes descriptions of the school's four learning modules: Jewelry Business Principles, Jewelry Finance, Merchandising, and U.S. and International Business Law and Trade. Also featured is a section on combined diploma programs that can prepare students for a variety of positions in the jewelry industry. Students can attend classes at the Carlsbad, Calif., campus or enroll at GIA's New York or Los Angeles branches.

For information or a free copy of the catalog, call (800) 421-7250, ext. 4001 or (760) 603-4001 (outside the U.S. and Canada), e-mail: eduinfo@gia.edu, or visit www.gia.edu.
