JA Show Shifts Exhibit Hours

Staff -- JCK-Jewelers Circular Keystone, 1/1/2003

Business hours for the Spring 2003 Jewelers of America show in New York, to be held Jan. 26-28 at the Jacob Javits Convention Center, have been changed to 10 a.m.-6 p.m. on Jan. 26 and 27, and 9:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m. on Jan. 28.

JA is offering a variety of educational seminars on Jan. 26 and 27. Sunday seminar topics include "Marketing Your Independent Fine Jewelry Store," by Jennifer Burke-McGeehan, president of Marketing Momentum Inc.; "Selling with Certs: Eliminating the Fear and Adding the Romance Back to Diamond Sales," by Diane Flora, director of education for the American Gem Society; "The War on Terrorism and Its Impact on the Independent Retail Jeweler," by Cecilia Gardner, executive director and general counsel for the Jewelers Vigilance Committee; "Your Web Site: What Good Are the Statistics?" by John Davis, director of operations, JNet Inc.; and "Emeralds: Big Profits Are Back," by Bill Hoefer, G.G., FGA, U.S. sales director for Arthur Groom & Associates.

Monday seminars include "Promotions Packed With Punch!" by Burke-McGeehan; "Effective Leadership: Taking Charge of Your Success," by Flora; "Before Any Transaction, There Must Be Attraction," by Ruth Mellergaard, principal, Grid 3 International, and Marcia Colwell Jaconi, principal, Retail Resource, Inc.; "Creating Effective Promotional Displays—There is a Proven Strategy," by Andy Macaulay, director of advertising and communication, Chippenhook Inc.; and "The Benefits of Computer Assisted Design and Manufacturing," by Mike Adams and Ed Friedman, applications engineers, ModelMaster Inc.
