Appraisal Program for New England

Elly Rosen will present a full day of appraisal education to jewelers in the New England area on Oct. 27, 2002, at the Diplomat in Saugus, Mass. The program will include "Gems & Jewelry Trade Laws & Regulations," "Professional Appraising: From Replacement Cost to Fair Market Value," "Value Elements & Descriptions of Phenomenal Gemstones," and "Back to Basics With Optical Gemology: Efficiency & Effectiveness With Mounted Goods."
Participants are encouraged to bring a loupe and tweezers, penlight, color filters, polariscope (with condensing sphere and quartz or mica wedge), and a choice of samples. The presenter will provide some equipment and samples.
