Jewelers' Security Alliance Honors Two At Annual Luncheon

JSA LunchJewelers' Security Alliance the presented awards to two recipients who have helped fight crime against the jewelry industry at its annual luncheon on Saturday, January 9th.

Deputy Chief Jeff Ross of the Northbrook, IL Police Department received the 12th Annual James B. White Award to Law Enforcement. Ross was cited as an expert on the South American gangs that attack the jewelry industry and as a participant in several major task forces that have arrested major gang members.

Ivy Cutler, G.G., coordinator of the records department in the GIA Laboratory in New York received the fifth annual Industry Service Award. Cutler was cited for her work with law enforcement in red-flagging and identifying stolen diamonds that pass through GIA. Her information has then been used by law enforcement to lead to fences and other criminals. She was also cited for her work in training FBI and law enforcement personnel on the basics of gemology.
