Heidi Klum's Clover is Over

Paul Holewa -- JCK Online, 8/11/2009 11:43:29 AM

After five years of producing jewelry, lawsuits against Heidi Klum's clover-inspired designs have forced the supermodel turned reality show hostess to discontinue her jewelry line, according to a LA Times report.

The lawsuit originated from Van Cleef & Arpels. In referencing the lawsuit in the LA Times report, Klum said: "They wanted to have the clover, even though our designs had never matched ... I don't know how many designs I had done in five years, maybe 800 different designs -- but they just wanted to own the clover motif."

The LA Times report added that Klum is looking for new licensing agreements for her jewelry.

When Klum launched her jewelry collection with Mouawad USA and later sold her jewelry on QVC in 2006, she discussed that inspirations for the collection were based on a four-leaf clover pattern she observed when touring churches in Milan, Italy.

Klum has also designed men's clothing, shoes for Birkenstock, a clothing line for Jordache, swimsuits featured in Sports Illustrated's 2002 Swimsuit Issue, lingerie for Victoria's Secret, two fragrances as well as cosmetics.
