Web site traffic in the jewelry/luxury goods/accessories category experienced double-digit growth in May 2009, according to comScore’s monthly analysis of U.S. consumer activity at top online properties. The number of visitors to these sites increased 13 percent to nearly 18 million, thanks in part to Mother’s Day and other seasonal events that prompted many to search for gifts online.
Among the highly-trafficked sites were Swarovski, Swarovski.com, which led the category with 2.4 million visitors, an increase of 125 percent over April. Other sites in the category that saw gains were Kay Jewelers, Kayjewelers.com, (up 47 percent to 973,000 visitors) and Tiffany & Co., Tiffany.com, (up 15 percent to 812,000 visitors).
