Jeweler Killed in Possible Cyanide-Related Death

By JCK Online Staff -- JCK Online, 6/16/2009 12:57:00 PM

An Edison, New Jersey jewelry store owner was killed in what press accounts are calling a possible cyanide-related death.

The owner of the Aabhushan Family Jewelers, identified as 46-year-old Sushil Bhalla, was found dead Monday after police received reports of a chemical release, reports say.  Police found a container with 4 to 5 ounces of cyanide in a back room of the store.

Initial reports said seven employees were injured, but later reports called that unfounded.

Reports said that neighboring stores in the strip center were evacuated as a precaution.

Bhalla’s death was called a “big loss for the community” in press accounts today.
