"Silver Sparks: The Bishopsland Connection" is an exhibition of contemporary silver and jewelry made by past and present students of the Bishopsland Workshops, Oxfordshire, and by makers patronized by the P & O Makower Trust. It will be on view at the Gilbert Collection, Somerset House, Strand, London from June 4 to August 24. The exhibit comprises 47 pieces demonstrating this centuries-old craft.
"Silver Sparks," which celebrates Bishopland's 10th anniversary, is in three sections: work by eight current students; the work of 25 former students; and the works of such artists as Rod Kelly, Jane Short, and Hiroshi Suzuki, who have all executed commissions for the P & O Makower Trust.
