The Society of North American Goldsmiths has organized "The Art of Gold," a survey exhibition of contemporary American goldsmithing curated by Michael Monroe, and the first such exhibition in more than 50 years. The three-year tour began in January at the Crocker Museum in Sacramento; other venues include the University of Richmond, Richmond, Va., Sept. 1-Oct. 20, 2003; Arkansas Arts Center, Little Rock, Ark., Jan. 28-March 15, 2004; Mint Museum of Craft + Design, Charlotte, N.C., April 3-Aug. 8, 2004; and the Anchorage Museum, Anchorage, Alaska, Nov. 10, 2004-Jan. 7, 2005.
