Raymond Weil Debuts Sports Watch Line, New Campaign

By William George Shuster

This story appears in the January 2007 issue of JCK Magazine.

Luxury watchmaker Raymond Weil has launched RWSport, its first venture in performance sport timepieces, with a multimillion-dollar ad campaign, titled “Not a Moment Missed” and featuring ESPN sportscasters Dan Patrick, Trey Wingo, and Steve Levy instead of athletes. The new line and multimedia campaign were unveiled Oct. 20 (baseball legend Mickey Mantle's birthday) at Mickey Mantle's Restaurant in New York City. Ron Darling, pitcher for the 1986 World Series winner New York Mets; Wingo; and Benny Shabtai, president of Raymond Weil USA were on hand.

The multimedia campaign for the RWSport watch line continues through 2007. Shot in black-and-white journalistic-style by Larry Fink, photo editor for Vanity Fair, the ads feature the sportscasters in relaxed, but natural, settings. The ads target young men who are sophisticated sports enthusiasts and will appear in such publications as Esquire, Details, Sports Illustrated, and Best Life.
