Christie's Auction Earns $19 Million

Christie’s April 22 auction “Jewels: The New York Sale” sold 174 lots for a total of $19,293,675. The top lot was a diamond ring with a 30.02 ct., D color, internally flawless pear-shape diamond which sold for $4,002,500, or $133,000 per carat.

Rounding out the top 10 were the following:

* Diamond ring with a 32.72 ct., rectangular-cut diamond (D/VS1) mounted in platinum and white gold, $1,650,500.

* Pendant by Harry Winston set with a 15.05 ct. pear-shape diamond (D/VVS2) mounted in platinum, $986,500.

* Ruby and diamond ring set with a 6.76 ct. cushion-cut ruby flanked by cushion-cut diamonds (2.01 cts. and 2.02 cts.) and mounted in platinum, $866,500.

* Diamond ring set with a 17.62 ct. rectangular-cut diamond (H/VVS2) and mounted in platinum, $722,500).

* Diamond chandelier ring set in platinum with an 11.91 ct. cut-cornered triangular-cut diamond (D/Internally Flawless), $674,500.

* Pearl and diamond sautoir, by Boucheron, with 155 graduated pearls (5.65–9.95 mm) joined by a marquise, circular and baguette-cut diamond clasp of foliate design, mounted in platinum, $398,500.

* Colored diamond ring set with a 10.46 ct. pear-shape fancy vivid yellow diamond (VS2) within a micropavé diamond surround, gallery, and hoop, mounted in platinum and 18k gold, $386,500.

* Diamond ring set with a 27.94 ct. rectangular-cut diamond (U-V/VS2) to brushed 18k green gold bifurcated hoop, $362,500.

* Diamond ring set with a 9.68 ct. heart-shape diamond (F/VS2), with a circular-cut diamond gallery and shoulders, mounted in platinum and accompanied by a textured 18k gold ring mounting, $314,500.
