WJA Awards $16,400 in Member Grants

Staff -- JCK Online, 2/1/2005 2:00:00 AM

The Women's Jewelry Association (WJA) Member Grant Program is awarding a total of $16,400 to 33 recipients. The intention of the WJA member grants is to provide a financial contribution for ongoing education that will empower women in the jewelry, watch, and related industries. Member grants are available to all female WJA members and are up to $500 in value.

Funds for the grants were raised from the proceeds of WJA's Silent Auction held during its annual Awards for Excellence celebration in July 2004, as well as from contributions by companies and individuals who support WJA's mission: Borsheim's Fine Jewelry & Gifts, Omaha, Neb.; Charles & Colvard, Morrisville, N.C.; Myron Toback Inc., New York; and Movado Inc., Paramus, NJ. WJA chapters around the country also contribute funds raised through their own efforts so more of their own chapter members may benefit from the educational grants.
