Janet L. Baker, 48, owner and founder of David Baker Creative Jewelers Inc., Dublin, Ohio, died June 19, 2001. Baker was a graduate of Bliss College, Columbus, Ohio, as well as the Gemological Institute of America, Carlsbad, Calif. She is survived by her mother, Ruby Rae Webb, Belpre, Ohio; husband David Baker; children Julie Anne, Krista Rae, and Gerard Grant Baker; mother-in-law Betty J. Baker, Columbus; brother and sister-in-law-Richard and Rita Baker; and nephews Matthew and John Baker.

Charles Fram, 98, former editor and publisher of Southern Jeweler Magazine, passed away March 4, 2001. He joined the Abernethy Publishing Company in Atlanta, Ga., in 1928, and served as editor of the magazine for more than 50 years, retiring in 1990. Fram was a charter member of the Southern Jewelers Travelers Association as well as a founding member of the 24 Karat Club, serving as executive secretary for many years. Several years ago, both organizations honored Fram with lifetime memberships.

James Kersey Jr., a sales executive for Harry Winston of Beverly Hills, died May 3 at the age of 47. Kersey recently was profiled by the Los Angeles Times Magazine because of his involvement with Winston, Hollywood, and the Oscars. He was previously associated with Buccellati, Sotheby's, and Brooks Brothers in New York. Kersey earned a bachelor's degree in Art History from the University of Virginia and worked at the Miriam Walmsley Gallery in New Orleans, where he directed sales, new artist development, marketing, and financial management. Kersey is survived by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. James Kersey Sr., of Virginia. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the American Heart Association.
