The fourth edition of AMBERMART, a trade fair for those who create jewelry with amber, will be held Aug. 22-24 at the Exhibition Centre, in Gdañsk, Poland.

Only Polish producers and designers can exhibit at the fair. It is expected by fair organizers that there will be more than 60 participants in attendence, slightly more than the previous year. The topical range of the event covers gold and silver jewelry with amber, amber jewelry and decorative items, applied art, ceramics, and designer glassware.

The fair is sponsored by the Minister of the Economy of the Republic of Poland, the International Amber Association, Polish Amber Chamber of Commerce, and the publication, Targi + (Fairs +).

The Fair will include a visitors' contest for the naming of the most interesting jewelry set with amber presented by the exhibitors and an amber laboratory, where the Experts' Committee of the Amber Association will identify the purchased amber for visitors.

In addition, more than a dozen designer jewelers will present their works in the Designers' Gallery, and in the Art Gallery visitors will be able to see the works by painters, graphic artists and sculptors from the Gdañsk area.

Also, a seminar entitled Amber in Gdañsk - Mineralogy, Archaeology and Craftsmanship will be held.

There will be a complete ban on the sale of amber forgeries and amber substitutes at the Fair, whereas fossil resins must be clearly labeled.
