Rapaport to Speak at WJA Midwest Conference

Martin Rapaport’s comments on the State of the Diamond Industry will kick off the first Midwest Womens Jewelry Association Women in the Know Conference on Oct. 19 at Macy’s State Street in Chicago. The theme of the conference is “Inspire, Educate, Connect,” and it will offer a host of expert speakers from both within and outside the industry.

Other highlights include an inspirational session presented by Susan Jacques, CEO/president of Borsheims; a journey through 200 years of jewelry design, from Peter Shemonsky, G.G., director of CIRCA in San Francisco; and tips on how to grow a designer business faster and smarter from Cindy Edelstein of Jewelers Resource Bureau.

Linda Zimmer, another industry veteran who now provides personal and business coaching, will speak about the journey of reinvention. And one of Chicago’s most influential people, Sherren Leigh, president and publisher of Today’s Chicago Woman, will talk about “Women Empowered—Business, Beauty and Beyond."
