Obituary

Staff -- JCK Online, 5/1/2008 2:00:00 AM

Michael G. Cosby, a longtime veteran of the jewelry industry, died March 25, 2008. Cosby began his career in the jewelry business as a district manager for Lenox China and Crystal in the Carolinas and later moved to the New Orleans market. After Lenox acquired ArtCarved in 1972, he transferred to the jewelry division and covered Louisiana, Mississippi, Arkansas, and parts of Texas. He later moved to Texas and represented ArtCarved there for several years before retiring from the jewelry business.

Cosby called on jewelers in those regions of the country and was well known and liked for his humor, personality, and storytelling ability.

He is survived by his wife, Ruth, sons Mark and Michael, daughter Cindy Davis, five grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren. Because of his great love of animals, in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the SPCA of Central Florida, 22 Conroy Road, Orlando, FL 32839.
