Dubai and China Join Forces

By Gary Roskin, G.G., FGA -- JCK Online, 12/1/2007 2:00:00 AM

Dubai Multi Commodities Centre has announced it will build industry-specific trade relations with the Hong Kong Gemstone Manufacturers' Association in the colored stones and pearls sector. DMCC and HKGMA will combine forces to promote colored stones and pearls through trade forums, exhibitions, seminars, and jewelry events.

The vision of DMCC's Colored Stones & Pearls Division is to become a hub for the global colored stones and pearls trade. Executive director Gaiti Rabbani notes that the Middle East, China, and Thailand are emerging economies with strong trade in colored stones and pearls.

HKGMA president Johnson Sin says the agreement with DMCC will allow HKGMA's members “to explore the extensive possibilities of this emerging market.”
